Life events

The CRA administers many programs that impact on individuals. Our Life events section is an effort to compile a broad range of topics that are relevant to common events that occur in a person's life.

What to do when someone has died
Dealing with death is always difficult. We have assembled some topics in an effort to help you with income tax affairs relating to deceased persons, such as, death benefits, Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB), GST/HST credit, and more.		 What to do when someone becomes disabled
For people with mental or physical impairment and those who support them, we have combined topics and services. You will find out about deductions and credits that may be claimed on your tax returns, as well as GST/HST, Federal Excise Gasoline Tax rebate, and Customs information. You will also find services that we offer to people with disabilities, and more.
