Policies and Strategies Laws and Regulations Our Activities Protected Species

Home

Welcome to the Canadian Wildlife Service's Enforcement Branch Web site.

On this site, you will find information on acts and regulations regarding wildlife, as well as the measures we are taking to ensure their implementation. You will also find information regarding the species protected under this legislation.

Canadian wildlife legislation protects species in Canada, particularly migratory birds. It is also aimed at conserving threatened or potentially threatened species internationally. These laws regulate human intervention, such as hunting or trade, that could adversely affect long-term wildlife conservation.

The implementation of these laws involves activities carried out by officers throughout the various regions of Canada. It includes work in collaboration with several national and international agencies and organizations.
