Procedure for Submission of Canadian Gemini Proposals

Absolute Deadline:


  • Gemini North and South Proposals for Semester 2007-A
    (1 February 2007 to 31 July 2007) will be accepted until 4 p.m. (Pacific Time) on 30 September 2006.
  • Please describe how you would change your proposal, in order to handle unsatisfactory observing conditions.

Reasonable electronic size:

Referees start to encounter printer problems when asked to referee a proposal exceeding 2.1 Megabytes. Try to decrease the size of your figures, and/or to supply to the reader with a WWW address where the figures can be seen at high-resolution and in colour (if applicable). If you do not receive an acknowledgement within three working days (excluding Sat. & Sunday), contact NRC's Dr. J.P. Vallée.

Important Considerations


PIT Page limits: Please respect the various page limits as prescribed there.

The following three categories of proposal are acceptable for Canadian Gemini time:

  1. The Principal Investigator (PI) is based in Canada or is supported by Canadian funds,
  2. The PI is not Canadian-supported, but one of the Co-Is is. In this case, if one or more of the Co-Is is in a partner country, it is expected, but not required, that the proposal be submitted to the partner countries.
  3. None of the proposers are from a Gemini partner country. This is a ''purely international'' proposal.
