The Landfill Gas Association is one of the UK's seven renewable energy trade associations. It represents the interests of those involved in the utilisation of landfill gas. Landfill gas contains methane, produced by the anaerobic decomposition of organic matter in landfill sites. Its major use is for electricity generation, although other direct uses include CHP applications, kiln firing and vehicle fuel. Its members comprise specialist development companies, waste management companies, consultants and a range of associated equipment and service providers. Amongst the range of services provided to members, the association runs a detailed and comprehensive training course on landfill gas management and utilisation. The course is run in conjunction with the Institution of Diesel and Gas Turbine Engineers.

SVUT comprises currently over 110 companies and experts in all fields of environmental technology, predominantly belonging to the economic sector of small and medium-sized firms (SME's). SVUT members are qualified companies and experts that are active in the specialist areas of consultancy, engineering, manufacturing, commerce and special services. SVUT offers its member-companies and interested parties, as well as local authorities and other organisations, information with extensive back-up and provides an institutionalised, accepted platform for dialogue. SVUT aims at safeguarding the interests of its members in both technical and economic policy matters. SVUT opens up access to new markets to export-orientated companies, as well as organising and taking care of common representation at national and international environmental trade fairs and specialist conferences. SVUT has a private financial structure and is politically neutral; the Association is mainly active in Switzerland, but is also orientated towards other countries. The SVUT promotes, thanks to the heterogeneity of its member firms, holistic industry solutions in consideration of the sustainable development. Accordingly new co-operation forms as well as new alliances are strived for. The Committee of SVUT places particular importance on ensuring a high quality level for the Association in the long term.

A unique developing-country institution, TERI is deeply committed to every aspect of sustainable development. From providing environment-friendly solutions to rural energy problems to helping shape the development of the Indian oil and gas sector; from tackling global climate change issues across many continents to enhancing forest conservation efforts among local communities; from advancing solutions to growing urban transport and air pollution problems to promoting energy efficiency in the Indian industry, the emphasis has always been on finding innovative solutions to make the world a better place to live in. However, while TERI’s vision is global, its roots are firmly entrenched in Indian soil. All activities in TERI move from formulating local- and national-level strategies to suggesting global solutions to critical energy and environment-related issues. It is with this purpose that TERI has established regional centres in Bangalore, Goa, Guwahati, and Kolkata, and a presence in Japan and Malaysia. It has set up affiliate institutes: TERI–NA (Tata Energy and Resources Institute, North America) Washington DC, USA, and TERI–Europe, London, UK.

The World Energy Efficiency Association grew out of a 1992 initiative of the Atlantic Council of the United States which brought together a diverse group of over ninety world energy experts to study how to improve the effectiveness of energy technology cooperation, transfer efforts and programs. The group's final report stressed the need for an international mechanism, such as the World Energy Efficiency Association, to assist developing and reindustrializing countries in accessing information on energy efficiency. Since 1993, WEEA has assisted developing countries in accessing information on energy efficiency, served as a clearinghouse for information on energy efficiency programs, technologies and measures, publicized international cooperation efforts in energy efficiency and disseminated this information worldwide.
The organization continues its efforts in meeting the goals with which it was charged in 1993.
