The Clean Air Renewable Energy Coalition is a group of corporate, environmental non-governmental organizations (ENGOs) and municipal governments launched to accelerate the development of Canada’s renewable energy industry.
The fundamental issue we have highlighted since our formation in the year 2000 is that low-impact renewable energy requires market recognition for its environmental and social benefits. Generally speaking, these benefits are not financially valued in energy market pricing. In parallel, those energy sources that significantly impact on the environment and society are not financially penalized. Society, however, pays indirectly through the costs of treating health impacts, managing environmental impacts, and through the loss of land, watershed, and valuable wildlife areas.

Windfall Ecology Centre is a York Region based non-profit multi-partner organization that brings environmental solutions to homes, businesses, institutions, and communities. We have achieved results by mobilizing community cooperation and by providing practical services and advice since 1998. As an organization we focus on local action…what individuals and groups can do, today, in our community.
Organizing a community to take action at the household level is a powerful approach to environmental improvement. Our communities are the largest scale at which most of us feel personally connected and capable of direct…meaningful participation. They are also the smallest scale at which it is possible to mobilize the resources needed for a major initiative.

ZECA Corporation is the successor to The Zero Emission Coal Alliance, an international collaboration of industrial, government, and research institutions that was formed to investigate the practical potential of the ZEC Technology* that had been invented at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Louisiana State University. This technological concept offers the potential to produce emission-free, ultra clean energy from coal.
The Zero-Emission coal power plant, using ZEC Technology*, utilizes anaerobic hydrogen production to generate electricity. This process integrates coal gasification, hydrogen production via calcium oxide carbonation, and limestone calcination, while incorporating a fuel cell system. The anaerobic hydrogen production process is an industrial, elevated-temperature process that requires no air (hence anaerobic), involves no combustion, and requires no heat input. Aside from coal, the process requires only water and CaO as inputs, the latter two being continuously recycled.
