Aerotech Summer Camps 2006

The day camps are now over. Don’t forget to come back in early spring 2007 to register for another summer adventure. Browse the next level by consulting the brief descriptions below.

You’ve dreamed of flying, now you can live the adventure. This year’s Aerotech camps have changed. Two brand new themes have been developed to allow young pilots and explorers to discover the wonderful world of aviation. Camps include exciting projects and a flight for each camper! Aerotech I Off to a Flying Start!

Off to a Flying Start! is a week of activities, visits and projects aimed at initiating participants to the concept of flight and aerodynamics.

On the program—interactive activities, a kite making workshop, a take–home hot air balloon project, an afternoon at a wave pool and a flight in an aircraft with a qualified instructor from the Rockcliffe Flying Club.

Daily leisure activities are included to allow kids to unwind. An extraordinary week of activities not to be missed!

Ages 6 to 8
Children must be 6 years of age as of June 30, 2006

Aerotech II Flight Missions

Your mission—reach new heights during this extraordinary week as you participate in intriguing projects and field trips that will captivate you. End the week with the ultimate adventure as you climb aboard a vintage aircraft for a flight above the region.

Flight Missions is a week of activities, visits and projects aimed at familiarizing participants with the principles of flight, airmanship and aviation. Build and launch a rocket-powered glider to take home. Complete a scavenger hunt through the Museum’s collection. Test your ingenuity in constructing a parachute to save an egg from destruction in the “Daredevilled Egg” competition.

Also on the program—an afternoon at a wave pool, a visit to the Canada Science and Technology Museum, and of course, daily leisure activities.

Ages 9 to 12
Children must be 9 years of age as of June 30, 2006

General Information

Who?

No prerequisites required for any Aerotech camp.

Where?

The Museum is located at the intersection of the Aviation and Rockcliffe Parkways in Ottawa.

When?

Each camp takes place Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Daycare is available from 8 to 9 a.m. and from 4 to 5 p.m.

Fees

Limited number of spaces. We reserve the right to cancel a camp in the event of insufficient registration.

Reservations

We will be taking reservations for this program in early spring.
