SEASONAL SCHOOL PROGRAMS 2006-2007

FALL

Fall at the Farm
K to Grade 4
$5 per student
Duration: 90 minutes

September 20 to October 27, 2006
Fall is an exciting time on the farm! This program offers a cornucopia of fun with three activity stations featuring seasonal topics. Students make their own cider, learn the role of bees in pollination and become busy bees themselves, playing out life in the hive. And they discover Ontario and Quebec’s main cereal crop as they take part in a very corny quiz show. (A-5)

Pumpkins
K and Grade 1

$5 per student
Duration: 75 minutes

October 2 to 31, 2006
“Spooky,” “Trick or Treat,” “Baby Pam” and “Bushkin”…Come harvest some pumpkin varieties planted by students last spring! Discover the Mohawk legend of the three sisters, explore the different parts of a pumpkin plant, and make a pumpkin craft to take back to class. (A-24)

Dairy Days
Consult our Educational Activity Kit - New !
K to Grade 4
$5 per student

October 4 to 5, 2006
A half day of dairy fun awaits your class during this special program. Students get to make and taste butter and cheese, and sample dairy products made from the milk of other mammals such as sheep and goats. In the Dairy Barn students visit the milkhouse and see Millie, our demonstration cow, being milked, and they participate in other hands-on activities. Book a morning or an afternoon: 9 a.m. to noon or noon to 3 p.m. (A-4)
