Fundraising
Over half a million people visit our Museums each year, attracted by our extensive collection of artifacts ranging from combines to computers, lasers to locomotives, classic cars to vintage air planes and by imaginative and educational interactive exhibits and year-round animation and demonstration activities. Making a donation to our organization is an opportunity for you to join forces with the Canada Science and Technology Museum, the Canada Aviation Museum and the Canada Agriculture Museum. Together we can ensure that these artifacts are preserved and that we continue to deliver programs that promote Canada's scientific, aeronautical and agricultural history.
Gift Options
The Museum has many causes to which you can direct a donation.
Where it is most needed:
By contributing to this fund, your donation is used where it is needed most at the time it is received.
Activities, exhibits, collection:
By contributing to this fund, your donation supports the ongoing activities and educational programs that the Museum offers to help Canadians experience science and technology first hand, as they discover artifact rich exhibits featuring marine and land transportation, astronomy, communications, space, domestic technology and computer technology. Your donation will also support the development and preservation of our unique collection of artifacts, photographs, technical drawings, trade literature, and rare books, all of which are complemented and supported by library holdings of monographs and serials.
Railway collection and preservation:
By contributing to this fund, your donation supports the Museum's railway collection, which is broadly representative of the technological trends that have characterized Canadian railway operations from the 1850s to the 1990s. The railway collection comprises over 1000 artifacts. These objects range from documents and engineering drawings to steam locomotives, streetcars and signalling devices—each representing an important aspect of railway technology and the people who made it work.

Donation or sale of artifacts / objects
All of our Museums share a common objective: to help people understand the transformation of Canadian life resulting from science and technology. To do this the Corporation acquires, displays and preserves representative objects, devices, documents, photographs, technical drawings, and other artifacts of our technological history. Some of these come from businesses and corporations, but many more are donated or sold to the Corporation by individuals like you.
We appreciate your interest in helping to preserve Canada's technological heritage and build our collections, whether through donation or sale. To find out more, please have a look at our guide: Guide to Donating or Selling Objects.
Planned Giving
More and more Canadians are choosing to support their favourite cause through deferred or planned giving. This allows an individual or family to make a substantial gift to the Museums that would not otherwise be possible. For more information, please call 613-993-7457.
Corporate Gifts
We actively pursue support from corporations, foundations and other groups. If your organization wishes to make a donation to the Canada Science and Technology Museum, Canada Aviation Museum or the Canada Agriculture Museum please contact our fundraising senior officer at 613-993-7457.
