Music. It's the heartbeat of the arts. It's a vital creative pulse in our lives. CBC Radio has always recognized the power of great music and continues a long tradition of commissioning music that started in 1939.

This site is a reflection of the history of music commissioning at CBC Radio. It is also a resource for composers, songwriters, and producers who want to find out how to bring that next great musical experience to the ears of CBC Radio listeners across Canada and around the world.

It’s a big, beautiful, multi-faceted world of music out there and we welcome the best of all of it. You are invited to explore these pages and perhaps discover your path to making music for Canada’s public broadcaster.
