Print and Drawing Techniques
Prints Drawings Gallery

Print and Drawing Techniques highlight prints and drawings from the National Gallery of Canada's European and Canadian collection. The works have been chosen with an eye to showcasing the chronological range of work and the various media used by printmakers and graphic artists.

A description is provided of both drawing and print techniques. The complexity and the number of steps involved in making a print or drawing are shown in some detail. It is interesting to see how the same technique, for example in the case of etching, looks differently when created by artists of varied perspectives or from later time periods.

New techniques will be added to the existing ones, we encourage you to visit the site regularly to see the changes being introduced.
