CBC News: the WiRE

About Chad

Three words: Chad knows television.

He has worked in front of the camera, behind the camera, beside the camera… you get the picture.

Chad Carriere
Chad Carriere

Before plugging into the WiRE, Chad hosted, co-produced and co-edited two entertainment/news programs. They gave him the chance to hang out with the legendary punk band Face to Face and to interview the Vans Warped Tour Founder Kevin Lyman.

Chad's love of music also lead him to the 2004 MuchMusic VJ Search. As one of the finalists, he got to find out what it was like to be a host on the network. That included the chance to interview one of the hottest bands out there: Sum 41. Chad also made a bit of history at Much. Well, IF you’re a Britney Spears fan anyway. He was the first VJ to introduce her then brand new video “Toxic”. (Now if he’ll just stop singing the song…)

No stranger to the camera, Chad also acts and models in his spare time and has been featured in national and international commercials.

He has also directed, co-produced and co-edited a music video for the Calgary rock band Atumz Eve.

Three more words: Chad loves television.

As for stuff that has nothing to do with TV, Chad loves to play hockey, snowboard, maybe invent playing hockey on a snowboard, music, fashion, having fun with family and friends and… did we mention hockey?

Originally from Roblin, Manitoba, Chad moved to Calgary to get a Television Diploma at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. He went on to get a Bachelor of Communications from the University of Calgary.

Three final words: watch the WiRE.
