Own A Treasure?
The National Gallery of Canada does not make evaluations of value or worth, nor does it furnish legal authentication of works of art because it is not in the business of selling art.

For such expertise, it is suggested that you contact a member of the Art Dealers Association of Canada

The Gallery does, however, offer a Curators' Clinics program, organized by the Volunteer's Circle of the National Gallery of Canada. Members of the public can bring in, by appointment, privately held works on paper, photographs and small Inuit sculptures for help in identification or assistance with conservation. To make an appointment, see Curators' Clinics for details.

There is no similar clinic for paintings.
