Introduction

International Standard Serial Number

The ISSN is a unique code for identifying serial publications, such as periodicals, newspapers, annuals, journals and monographic series. It provides an efficient and economical method of communication between publishers and suppliers.

Canadian publishers of serials can obtain ISSN from ISSN Canada, a service of Library and Archives Canada.
