This is the National Library's main site on Confederation, telling the story of each province and territory, and featuring 70 people who played a part in Canada's evolution. It is bigger and deeper than Confederation for Kids, and is written for readers ages 12 and up. The Canadian Encyclopedia, www.thecanadianencyclopedia.com. This is a great tool for learning about anything and everything Canadian. Type in a word or words into the 'Search' box in the upper right corner. When the results come up, choose the 'Junior' level. Canada: A People's History, www.cbc.ca/history/. You may have heard about this exciting television series that tells the history of Canada. There are 17 episodes in the series. Go to the 'Explore the Episodes' box to choose the one you want to look at. Episodes 8-11 tell about the time of Confederation and soon after. Go to the right side of the window to click on the different chapters of the episode. |
