For more information on Canadian Federal Government Information and Publications and Information, please visit the following sites

  • Depository Services Program:
The Depository Services Program or DSP, is an essential link between the Canadian federal government and its clients - the Canadian public, other governments, universities and businesses. Its primary objective is to ensure that Canadians have ready and equal access to federal government information. The DSP achieves this objective by supplying these materials to a network of more than 790 libraries in Canada and to another 147 institutions around the world holding collections of Canadian government publications.

  • Depository Libraries:
Full depository status is granted to Canadian libraries that are nominated and approved by a Committee consisting of representatives of the National Library of Canada and the Depository Services Program. This status is granted as either English, or French, or bilingual, depending on the clientele of the library in question. Full Depository Libraries automatically receive a shipment of all publications listed for distribution by the Program in the Weekly Checklist of Canadian government publications for that week. There are forty-eight full depositories in Canada and one each in England, Germany, Japan and the United States.

  • Canadian Government Publications:
As the official publisher of the Government of Canada, Canadian Government Publishing (CGP) provides a wide range of topics in various formats. CGP not only maintains a central ordering and distribution source, but through its associated network of bookstores and retailers across Canada and abroad it ensures that publications are easily and readily available. In addition, we establish co-publishing arrangements with private sector publishers as well as administer Crown copyright on behalf of Government of Canada departments.

  • Canadian Government Information on the Internet

  • InfoSource:
Info Source is a series of publications and databases containing information about the Government of Canada, its organization and information holdings. It supports the government's policy to explain and promote open and accessible information regarding its activities. It is a key reference tool to assist members of the public in exercising their rights under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act

This service was developed through a partnership between the Depository Services Program, Communication Canada and the National Library of Canada.

Our goal: To improve your access to information about Canadian Federal Government Publications.
