Government Administrative Histories Online contains historical sketches of all Government departments — present and past — as well as all current agencies, boards, commissions and offices. Each entry is based on official sources — statutes and orders in council — and highlights mandate and functions, name changes and changes in structure or responsibilities. Each entry contains the proper name of the public body, references such as alternative names and the names of related public bodies, the historical sketch as such and citations of the sources on which the entry is based. Users may search under any name which appears among the references and be led to the appropriate entry.
