BookWorm:
Online Catalogue for NSARM Library

BookWorm is a searchable online catalogue describing selected holdings from the Library at Nova Scotia Archives and Records Management. It is NOT a complete catalogue for the Library Collection, but it does include our most popular secondary (i.e. published) source materials, with an emphasis on family, community and county histories, genealogical resources and general Nova Scotian studies.

The most recent electronic update of our Library holdings is available on the NS Government Libraries Consolidated Catalogue, NcompasS.

Please note that NSARM Library holdings do not circulate and are only available for onsite use. Researchers unable to visit NSARM in person should consult their local library for assistance in identifying if the material is held elsewhere and available through Interlibrary Loan services.

Many of the 18,680 titles included in BookWorm are available in the self-service area of the Microfilm Reading Room, where researchers can help themselves during all open hours. Older, rarer items, and the remainder of the estimated 50,000 titles in the NSARM Library, are available via the Library Card Catalogue in the Archives Reading Room. Material not designated 'Open Shelf' must be ordered by Request Slips during weekday operating hours.

All new Library acquisitions are included in BookWorm, which will grow over time as we gradually convert existing card records to electronic format. The most recent electronic update of our Library holdings is available on the NS Government Libraries Consolidated Catalogue, NcompasS. Their catalogue provides locations around Nova Scotia for items you may want to borrow from a lending library.
