View and Update Personal Information

My Service Canada Account: An improved Service

Important: Access to this service is changing!

On November 23, 2006, this on-line service will be available through the new My Service Canada Account. You will be able to access and manage all of your personal information for Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security from one secure location.

This on-line service allows you to view and update your Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Old Age Security (OAS) address, telephone number and payment destination. When you move, be sure to also inform the Canada Revenue Agency of your new address using their on-line service at http://www.cra.gc.ca/newaddress.

Service Canada also offers the Tax Information Slips on-line service which allows you to view and print copies of your Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security tax information slips (T4 and NR4). Starting February 1, 2006, you will have access to your tax slips for 2005 as well as for previous tax years, back to 2003. View your tax information slips now!

To use the View and Update Personal Information service, you must:

  • live in Canada;
  • receive payments under either OAS or CPP;
  • use a computer that meets our minimum computer requirements;
  • provide your Social Insurance Number, first name, last name, date of birth, and your mother's last name at her birth; and
  • have a personal access code. Your Personal Access Code is required to login to this service.

Please note: You must provide your Personal Access Code each time you login. The personal access code is only used to login to on-line services. Do not include it in any written correspondence with the Department.

Security Warning: If you are using this service on a shared computer in a public area (i.e. public kiosk or library), please ensure that you do not leave the computer unattended while accessing this service and always log out before you leave. These precautions will ensure that no one else can access any personal information you may have entered.

Exceptions

  • If you live outside Canada or have your benefits deposited to a foreign bank account, and you receive either OAS or CPP, you can view your information but you cannot make on-line changes at this time. If you wish to make changes, please contact us.
  • If you receive children's benefits and are between the ages of 18 and 25, you may not be able to access this on-line service due to system limitations. If you wish to make changes, please contact us.
  • If you have notified us that a registered trustee, guardian or other legal representative is taking care of your financial affairs, neither you nor the legal representative may use this service at this time. However, if you have authorized another person to act as Power of Attorney on your behalf, you will be able to use this service but your Power of Attorney will not have access at this time.
  • If you receive a Quebec Pension Plan benefit, please contact the Régie des rentes du Québec World Wide Web site for more information.
