Les participants - Autobiographie, biographie et souvenirs  Le gouvernement

Il y a pléthore de comptes rendus relatés par les participants de la Campagne qui faisaient partie des forces du gouvernement. Comme on peut s'y attendre, parmi les officiers et les hommes qui se sont engagés dans la milice de façon volontaire pour la durée de cette campagne, plusieurs d'entre eux ont plus tard mené une vie publique célèbre au Canada. On peut compter parmi eux des députés, des notables municipaux de l'ouest ou de l'est du Canada, le premier général du Canada et un futur gouverneur général. Plusieurs d'entre eux ont également écrit leurs mémoires ou ont fait l'objet d'une biographie. Les officiers supérieurs qui ont écrit leurs mémoires l'ont fait pour justifier leurs actions ou encore pour condamner d'autres officiers.
