Linda Lizotte-MacPherson was appointed Associate Secretary of the Treasury
Board in May 2005. In this position she will lead the government's service
transformation agenda.
Ms. Lizotte-MacPherson is an experienced business leader in both the private
and public sectors. She has over 20 years of experience leading complex
organizations and large informational technology programs throughout North
America. She has earned an excellent reputation for her work in successfully
launching start-up organizations and re-shaping several Fortune 500 companies. She has gained recognition for change
management, reengineering, and large-scale transformation programs.
Most recently, Ms. Lizotte-MacPherson worked as Strategic Advisor to the
Chief Executive Officer, Information Technology Services Branch of Public Works
and Government Services Canada, and prior to that, she was the first Chief
Executive Officer of the Canada Health Infoway Inc., where she successfully
launched the corporation.
As part of an executive interchange, Ms. Lizotte-MacPherson served as the
Chief Information Officer for the Government of Canada from 1998 to 2000. In
this role, she oversaw the federal government's successful Year 2000 program,
the development and launch of its Government On-Line initiative, and the renewal
of its information technology professional community.
In the private sector, Ms. Lizotte-MacPherson was President of two Canadian
subsidiaries, Sapient Canada Inc. and AMS Management Systems Canada Inc., and
held a number of senior executive positions with Digital Equipment of Canada.
Ms. Lizotte-MacPherson is the recipient of numerous awards, including the
2000 E-Commerce Leadership Award, the Distinction Award for Excellence in the
Management of Information Technology in the Public Service, the Ottawa-Carleton
YWCA Woman of Distinction Award, and was recognized in the 2004 Who's Who
Canada and the 1997-98 Who's Who Among Top Executives in North America.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Carleton University and
completed Digital's Executive Development Program through Queen's University.
