Public Service Employment Act

The new Public Service Employment Act (PSEA) is designed to facilitate hiring the right people, when and where they are needed, while respecting the values of fairness, transparency and access.  The Act will give managers more staffing authority and increases options for staffing approaches that better address the special needs of the organization.

A special effort is being made to reach out to all public service employees to inform them of the key changes the Act brings.

The following materials will help you raise awareness of the coming into force of the PSEA and will support understanding among your deputy heads, managers, HR advisors and other key audiences of their specific responsibilities under the Act.

The materials also provide information on some of the new policies and procedures, as well as the new obligations and opportunities for staffing and recruitment that are potentially available to your department or agency following implementation of the Act.
