CIC Call Centre Services

Information Available Anytime

Read our tips for clients.

Our automated telephone service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have a touch-tone telephone, you can

  • listen to pre-recorded information about Citizenship and Immigration programs,
  • order an application kit, and
  • check the status of your application.

If you are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing, or you have a speech impediment and use a text telephone, you can access the TTY service from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. your local time by calling 1 888 576-8502 (in Canada only).

Note: CIC’s automated telephone service aims to answer 80% of calls.

Call Centre Agents

Bilingual call centre agents are available to answer your questions Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., your local time.

Please note that agents cannot make decisions on applications that are being processed by Case Processing Centres or CIC offices, nor can they assist you in processing your application more quickly.

Tips for clients

Since call volumes are higher on Mondays and Tuesdays, you are encouraged to contact the call centre later in the week.
