The Adaptive Computer Technology (ACT) Program's mandate is to assist in the integration into the workplace of employees with disabilities who require computer access.
Adaptive computer technology enables a person who has a sensory, mobility, dexterity or learning disability to use a computer by reducing or simply eliminating the barriers presented by the standard computer interfaces.
The objective is to enable access to computing resources by compensating for visual, mobility or sensory impairments.
Environment Canada currently provides ACT services to Other Government Departments.
