This year we asked you to submit your own choices for Word of the Year, and for the past few days we've been poring over some very intriguing nominations! We've gone through them all, and can now end the suspense by revealing your Top Ten picks—including the one word that the majority of you felt best deserved the highest honor as Merriam-Webster’s 2006 Word of the Year.
