Operation Lancaster wrapped up with most personnel ashore in Pond Inlet on Baffin Island, while HMCS Goose Bay and the Coast Guard ship Henry Larson rest at anchor.
Canada COM will help ensure the Canadian Forces are more:
- relevant by providing them with a command structure that is better suited to the defence of Canada and North America in the new international security environment;
- responsive by allowing them to quickly mobilize and deploy personnel to deal with a crisis anywhere in Canada; and
- effective by considering Canada a single operational theatre.
