Membership: The Lieutenant Governor of Ontario is a member of The Order of Ontario and the Chancellor of The Order of Ontario by virtue of his or her office. The members are: a) The Chief Justice of Ontario, who is the Chair of the Advisory Council; b) The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario; c) The Secretary of the Cabinet; and d) not more than six persons who are members of The Order of Ontario appointed by Ministerial Appointment letter, by the Premier. The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration is Secretary General. Term: The three ex-officio positions on the Advisory Council, the Chief Justice of Ontario, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario and the Secretary of the Cabinet serve for the tenure of their designated positions. There is no limitation in the Order-in-Council for the term of the six persons who are members of The Order of Ontario. Meetings: One or two meetings are held each year to review applications and prepare recommendations on proposed recipients. Requirements: -
