Guidelines for the filing of confidential information to the Commission
  •  
In order to simplify and expedite the filing of tariff and agreement applications, the Commission has created new checklists. The checklists will help you ensure that you have included all the required elements before submitting your documents. Filings that do not contain all the elements listed in the checklists will now be rejected as they are received. This practice will mean that non-compliant documents will be returned to you immediately rather than several days later, thereby reducing the processing time for your applications

The CRTC invites comments on an application received from TELUS Communications Company to eliminate the service charges of up to $100 that apply to connecting, moving, changing or reconnecting local phone service and to increase the monthly rates of residential phone service by up to $1 per month as of 23 April 2007.

The CRTC invites comments on applications received from Bell Canada and Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership to eliminate the service connection charge of $55.00 that applies to new and moving residential customers and to increase the monthly rates for Residential Primary Exchange Service by $0.80 for all customers.

CRTC issues a statement of key consumer rights with respect to local home phone service

  • Call for applications for broadcasting licences to carry on a television programming undertakings to serve Edmonton and/or Calgary, Alberta. Deadline: 18 August 2006.
  • Call for applications for a broadcasting licence to carry on a radio programming undertaking to serve Sudbury, Ontario. Deadline: 15 September 2006.
  • Call for applications for a broadcasting licence to carry on a radio programming undertaking to serve Sydney, Nova Scotia. Deadline: 15 September 2006.
Current calendar of public hearings/consultations:
  • 18 December 2006 hearing in Gatineau, Quebec to consider various broadcasting applications. Deadline for interventions: 23 November 2006.
  • 29 January 2007 hearing in Gatineau, Quebec to consider various broadcasting applications. Deadline for interventions: 4 January 2007.
  • 12 February 2007 hearing in Calgary, Alberta to consider various broadcasting applications. Deadline for interventions: 18 January 2007.
