Civilian Member Employment OpportunitiesCivilian members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are hired for their specialized scientific, technological, communications and administrative skills. Since the RCMP is a multi-faceted law enforcement organization with responsibilities for federal, provincial and municipal policing duties, it offers challenging and rewarding employment opportunities for civilian members as professional partners within Canada's national police force. (Civilian members are not delegated the powers of a police officer.) Civilian members represent approximately 12% of the total RCMP employee population, and are employed within RCMP establishments in most geographical areas of Canada. The following is a list of the most common categories of employment that may be available to interested and qualified individuals. Scientific
Technical
To apply for civilian member positions To locate RCMP civilian job opportunities, once on the current opportunities page, enter Royal Canadian Mounted Police as an “Organization” search criteria. Searching "RCMP" will not retrieve relevant postings. NOTE: The RCMP is also listed at the end of the Jobs Open to the Public page under “Other Governmental Organizations” (organizations that are not governed by the Public Service Employment Act and conduct their own recruitment). In the RCMP’s case, this refers only to the recruitment of those applying to become police officers. |
