Raise-a-Reader Day at Library and Archives Canada

Library and Archives Canada (LAC) would like to congratulate CanWest and its partners for its efforts in raising awareness on the importance of family literacy in Canada, through its campaign Raise-a-Reader. Since 2002, LAC has participated in this campaign and will continue to foster higher levels of literacy in Canada through advocacy and promotion.

It's also important to recognize the front-line work carried out in literacy programs by local libraries across this country. Libraries have made and continue to make a difference in the quality of life of every Canadian. On the eve of Canadian Library Month, let us celebrate the commitment of library staff across the country as well as their dedication to the well-being of their communities.
