What's New

Library and Archives Canada (LAC) launches seminar series with presentation on international standards development

Join us for the inaugural session of the seminar series New Directions in Description, to hear about LAC participation in international standards development:

Open Doors on Standards

A panel of experts, including Ian E. Wilson (Librarian and Archivist of Canada) and Ingrid Parent (ADM - Documentary Heritage Collection Sector), will share their knowledge and experience related to international archival and bibliographic standards development. Come and learn about the interesting work LAC does with organizations such as the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), the International Council on Archives (ICA), and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The presentation will be in English and French and will last approximately an hour, with time for questions after. This talk will be of interest to those in the archival and library communities.

When: Thursday, January 13, 2005, 10:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m.

Where: 395 Wellington Street, Ottawa, Exhibition Room A (ground floor)

Refreshments will be served

Admission is free
