cfmt
and the National Archives of Canada

At a ceremony on May 11, 2000 the National Archives (NA) of Canada and CFMT-TV formed a partnership. Under its terms, a collection of diverse television programming produced on video by CFMT, will be preserved by the NA. These video clips are the first donation of their kind received by the NA.

When you click on to the broadcasts, you will hear Italian and Chinese rather than either of the two official languages. As Madeline Ziniak, Vice-President and Executive Producer said on the day of the ceremony, the programming that CFMT has donated forms "a unique record of Canadian voices".

We are grateful to CFMT for this addition to our media fonds, and hope you will enjoy their bequest as one of the benefits of Canadian citizenship.

If you have a ‘Real Player’ plug-in you can view footage of the event on this page. If not, you can download it free of charge by clicking here.
