Working in the home

The integration of working and living space is traditionally associated with women homemakers, child rearing, the management of the living space, and with providing support to adult workers. Work time is constantly changing, controlled by the daily routine of seeing to the needs of household members. Work performed in the home has traditionally not been regarded as valuable nor as requiring as much skill as work performed outside of the home. These workers are self-supervised and most often work in isolation.
