World Poetry Day

Poetry readings

Thursday, March 21, 7:30 p.m. n the Auditorium of the National Library of Canada
395 Wellington Street, Ottawa

In cooperation with the European Union, UNESCO, Canada Council for the Arts, the Griffin Trust, and the Department of Canadian Heritage, we will be celebrating World Poetry Day with a reading of poems, new and old, from each of the 15 member states of the Union. The poems will be read in their original languages (11 in all). Translations (into either English or French) will be provided.

The short list for the second annual prestigious Griffin Poetry Prize will be announced during the evening.
