Subscription

The subscription fee entitles you to use the service which includes searching of the RVM database. However, records cannot be downloaded. The subscription to the service is for internal use only. Service may be interrupted occasionally but temporarily, especially overnight (local time), for maintenance.

The database corresponds to data maintained in the Bibliothèque de l'Université Laval's local system. Two display formats are available : MARC format, and thesaurus format, which includes notes, unused terms, and the complete network of generic, related and specific terms. The database is updated monthly.

Subscription options and fees are:

try-out period (one month), not renewable : $75
3-month subscription : 25% of the annual rate
12-month subscription : according to the following rate grid

1. Rate A applies to documentation and resource centres serving educational institutions (elementary, secondary, college and university), and is based on the population served (number of students). This rate also applies to specialized documentation and resource centres, and the rate charged is based on the number of people in the organization being served (staff size in the case of government departments or ministries, public and semi-public organizations, or number of members in the case of associations).

2. Rate B is applicable to municipal libraries, public libraries, regional municipal library services, as well as to national and provincial libraries. The rate is based on the population served.

3. The rate for a 12-month subscription for a business enterprise is $3,500.00. Renewal rate is $2,660.00 annually.

4. The renewal rate applies only if the organization has been a customer of the Web service for one year. This privilege is cancelled when subscription is interrupted for a period of six months or more.
