SCOPE AND CONTENT:

Series contains the minute book of proceedings of the Port Roseway Associates, 1782-1783 (volume 1; pages 1-218), including a list of the Associates and muster roll of free Blacks settled at Birchtown, Port Roseway, 1784; a petition from the overseers of the poor to the magistrates of Shelburne for the relief of Blacks, 1789; and a "Sketch of Shelburnian Manners" attributed to a Mr. Fraser of Miramichi, 1787. A photocopy of volume 1 is shelved as volume 8.

Typescript copy of a memorial from Robert Ross, Samuel Campbell and Alexander Robertson to Governor Parr, c.1785, regarding representation of the Loyalists at Shelburne (volume 2; 4 pages). Typescript copy of a muster roll at Shelburne, 1784 (volume 3; 4 pages). Typescript copy of a list of land grants to Loyalists in Shelburne County, c.1785 (volume 4; 1cm).
