According to mechanic Stephen Michalak (1916-1999), on May 19, 1967 he was prospecting for silver deposits near Falcon Lake when he was startled by the appearance of two cigar-shaped objects with humps glowing red and descending from the sky. As they got closer the objects appeared more oval-shaped. One of the objects flew away. The other, 35 feet (10.6 m) in diameter and 12 feet (3.6 m) high, landed about 160 feet (48 m) away from Stephen. He approached the craft and touched its side. It melted his glove. As the object took off, the exhaust knocked him on his back, set his shirt and cap on fire and burned his chest. For weeks Stephen suffered nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, blackouts and weight loss.

Scientists studied the ground at the landing site and found it contained unusual levels of Radium 226. This case is one of the most famous of all Canadian UFO encounters and one of the most believable in the world. It remains, to this day, unexplained.
