Nicknamed “Mr. Hockey,” Gordie Howe (born 1928) displayed a blend of ruggedness and skill which made him one of the best professional hockey players for more than twenty-five years. He finished among the top five scorers of the National Hockey League (NHL) for twenty years straight, and was named most valuable player in the NHL and the World Hockey Association seven times.
