Eugene Reimer

Member of the first Canadian team at a Paralympic event, held in Tel Aviv in 1968, Eugene Reimer dominated wheelchair sports in major international competitions during the late 1960s and the 1970s. In 1972, he was named Canadian male athlete of the year after an outstanding performance at the Heidelberg Paralympics, winning gold medals in the pentathlon and the discus.
