Implementation of Pinyin at the National Library of CanadaEffective Nov. 1, 2000, the National Library of Canada will follow Pinyin for newly created records. For name, series authorities, bibliographic and classification, NLC will follow the "New Chinese Romanization Guidelines" issued by the Library of Congress. These guidelines can be accessed online at: http://www.loc.gov/catdir/pinyin/romcover.html Any existing authority headings established according to Wade-Giles will be converted to Pinyin on an as encountered basis. |
