Literary Manuscript Collection

The Literary Manuscript Collection of the Children's Literature Service houses manuscripts, illustrations and iconographic documents from Canadian authors and illustrators. The emphasis of the collection is on the creators and creation of works of literature. This collection allows researchers to gain insight into the development of works of literature and the production of books.

A fonds may include manuscripts, typescripts, correspondence, photographs, illustrations, iconographic documents (theatre tickets, plasticine, etc.)

There are research tools: finding aids and a guide to the literary fonds, called: Literary Manuscripts: A Guide to the Literary Fonds at the National Library of Canada
