Passenger Lists

Back

Duchess of Bedford Passenger list, 1929.
In 1925, the government introduced the Canadian Government Return (CGR), a large sheet manifest, in place of Form 30A. It was more elaborate than any previous passenger list form. In addition to the personal information previously collected on passenger lists to 1919 and on Form 30A, the government now asked questions about language, health and next-of-kin. The CGR remained in use until the early 1950s. The Duchess of Bedford (Canadian Pacific) arrived at Québec on June 7, 1929.
