Joined the Geological Survey of Canada at age 26. Worked at the Geological Survey for 26 years. Strengths: a geology whiz, brilliant at fieldwork, tireless. Weakness: childhood illness left him under 5 feet tall, gave him a hunched back and lifelong pain. Hobbies: photography, poetry, studies of Native peoples. Claims to fame: the first to map the key rivers of the Yukon; one of the most popular figures in Canadian science. Star power: 3 stars
