    Leading up to Canada Day, we celebrate the communities that make up our diverse nation. Join the celebration with the games, music and technologies of various cultures. Hear traditional legends in the inflatable Planetarium, enjoy a drumming and throat singing performance, or be a guest as new Canadians take their oath of citizenship.
    ** note that the official National Aboriginal Day is June 21.

    Explore the technology of fire prevention and fire fighting at this special community event. Meet some of the heroes working as fire fighters in your community. See special demonstrations by fire crews, or visit the fire safety house and learn how to spot fire hazards in your own home.

    Festival of Technology

    The Museum celebrates its 40th anniversary with a technology extravaganza! Enjoy demonstrations of over 20 hidden treasures from the collection. Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the collection facility, or try your hand at print making and solar observing (weather permitting). From motorcycles to engines to telescopes, this indoor/outdoor event is fun for the whole family.

    Explore both the science and fun of the circus: Discover the physics of popular amusements such as roller coasters, the dunk tank and bumper cars. Special guest circus performers add a festive element to the event.

    All Aboard! Railway Fun

    August 11 - 12, 2007

    Explore the past, present and future of Canada’s rail industry!
    Take a trip on the Shay locomotive, see spike making demonstrations, and learn more about the people who worked on the rails when you meet one of the Science and Technology Players.

    Exploring the Waterways

    August 18 – 19, 2007

    Ahoy mateys! Join the celebration of lighthouses and all things nautical: Take a guided tour of the Cape North Lighthouse (weather permitting), enjoy lively Celtic music, and try out activities related to the science of boating and navigation.
