Canadian Culinary Book Awards
You are invited to join us for The 10th Annual Canadian Culinary Book Awards Friday November 2 2007 Churchill Ballroom Reception begins at 5:30pm Tickets for the event are $45 Cuisine Canada and the University of Guelph host the annual Canadian Culinary Book Awards to promote Canadian food culture and honour our top Canadian food writers and publishers. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the culinary book awards, previous winners will be honoured - they are among the finest Canadian culinary writers. Here are some highlights of the evening: Our MC for the evening is a former award-winning cookbook author, Jurgen Gothe, possibly better known as host of CBC 2 radio's DiscDrive. The Delta chefs, under the leadership of Chef Gino Guercio, are going all out with the food for this special event. For the reception they are cooking up a variety of appetizers from last year's winning cookbooks. Chef Gino will also have a cooking station in the reception area where he will dazzle us with special demonstrations and samplings. The Dairy Farmers of Canada will be providing a tasting station for some extraordinary Canadian cheeses, and to harmonize all of this fine food Inniskillin and Sleeman will be providing complimentary wine and beer (non-alcoholic beverages will also be available). You will be able to munch and mingle with authors, publishers, chefs, restaurateurs, the media, and foodies. On display during the evening will be winning books from 1998 until today. These winning books are housed in the University of Guelph culinary archival collection. R.S.V.P. Jane Ridley, Rm. 317, University of Guelph Library, Lynn Campbell |
