about the Library people, administration, policies and plans |
The University of Guelph Library collaborates with the libraries of the University of Guelph, the University of Waterloo, and Wilfrid Laurier University in a group called TUG (TriUniversity Group of Libraries).
Through TRELLIS -- the combined catalogue of the TUG libraries -- you can request books, journal articles and other items that are not available at Guelph. All students, faculty, staff and retirees can request items that:
Alumni and community borrowers cannot use TUGdoc and can only place holds on items in the Annex.
When you place a TUGdoc request for a journal article, Library staff will print the article and deliver it to a pickup location of your choice. Delivery usually takes three business days. There is no charge for this service.
To place a TUGdoc request:
- search TRELLIS to locate the journal volume containing the article you want
- if the volume is not available at Guelph, select Request item from TRELLIS.
- select TUGdoc request, and follow the instructions to complete your request.
When you place a request for a book or any other item in TRELLIS (for journal articles, see above), it will be delivered to the pickup location of your choice within three business days, unless the item is on loan. You may borrow the item for the same length of time that you are permitted to borrow Guelph items (for details, see borrowing policies).
To place a TRELLIS request:
- search TRELLIS to locate the item you want
- note whether the Status of the item is In library or On loan, then select Request item from TRELLIS .
- if the item is In library, select Hold; if it's On loan, select Recall, then follow the instructions to complete your request.
