City of Vancouver Archives Reopened

A recent email from Heather Gordon, Archives Manager of the City of Vancouver Archives stated that the archives have now re-opened following settlement of a labour dispute between the City and CUPE Local 15, the City's inside workers. City of Vancouver Archives

Jim Benedict has had great success using military records to add details to his family history. He will share his presentation originally presented to the Computer Special Interest Group in November 2006.

Images of England

The organization called English Heritage now has a website: ImagesOfEngland.org.uk The site contains pictures of buildings and objects (red telephone booths, etc.) that are considered worth recording before they disappear. It has been described as a new Domesday Book. Enter the names of English villages and towns where ancestors lived and see excellent pictures of the buildings they would have seen.
