Teacher’s Info

Professional Development

Getting prepared for a professional development day? Take advantage of the Museum to meet, experiment and become more familiar with our programs. Or, invite us to talk about our education programs in aviation, science, and technology. Call 613 991-3835 for more information.

Free Teacher’s Pass

If you would like to explore the Museum to prepare for your visit or to enhance a unit on aviation for your class, fax our Reservation Office at 613 998-4230 for a complimentary teacher’s pass. Please include your name and school mailing address.

Educational Materials on our Site

To get the most from your visit, you may wish to prepare your class in advance. Have your students read and talk about aviation, carry out research, prepare questions or draw pictures. For immersion classes or younger students, it is helpful before the visit to introduce any new vocabulary and technical terms that will be used during the program. Download our Activity Kit (PDF: 27 pages, 1.7MB) which can be used prior to your visit or as a follow-up. Viewing and printing of this kit requires the Adobe Reader, available for download free from the Adobe web site.

Amenities

Teachers are invited to browse through Aeronautica, the Museum’s giftshop, for educational materials on aviation.

There is a small lunchroom, and outdoor picnic tables are available during fine weather, for students to eat their lunches. Please include a request for these facilities in your reservation request. An on-site catering service is available by calling 613 842-4744.

In consultation with the community, we have developed a special approach for visually impaired students. The Museum is fully wheelchair accessible.
