Canadian Women in Aviation

The exhibit High Flyers: Canadian Women in Aviation highlights the Canadian women’s experience of flight over a span of some 80 years and their love of aviation and flying experiences. Visitors will come to understand the many accomplishments of these Canadian female aviators and the skill, knowledge and dedication required. “High Flyers” illustrates the role women have played in Canada’s aviation history and celebrates this group of strong-willed pioneers.

The Canada Aviation Museum has been extensively involved with Canada's Digital Collection, a program offered by Industry Canada under the federal government's Youth Employment Strategy (YES). This program paid young people to create websites featuring significant Canadian material in the public domain. The four web essays that follow allowed over 14 youths to gain a valuable and enriching work experience.
