The Canada Aviation Museum—A Best Bet For Canada Day, Rain or Shine
Ottawa—The Canada Aviation Museum invites everyone to celebrate their day off with family and friends at the perfect site to mark this special occasion! The Museum admission is free and offers free parking and a venue for all weather predictions – sun, rain or summer heat. The day’s activities include:
In the Sky ∗
Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
Fly-bys from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton, including the PBY 5A Canso Consolidated and the Douglas DC-3 Dakota. A truly unique site for aviation fans in the region.
Mile High Parachuting Club
The Mile High Parachuting jumps will lead the official playing of the National Anthem with a Canadian flag in prominent display.
Stetson Flyers Club
Enjoy dynamic demonstrations of remarkable radio-controlled models.
Aviation VIP Visits ∗
SkyHawks—Parachute demonstration
Precision and teamwork are the key to the Canadian Forces Parachute Team’s daring display of aerial acrobatics. Members of this precision team will also be available for an autograph session in the Museum after their aerial performance.

RCMP Pilatus PC-12/45
See the RCMP’s Pilatus PC-12/45 on static display outside on the ramp. Also visit the RCMP Recruiting Booth inside the Museum to meet members of the RCMP and discuss career opportunities.
Third Strike Wingwalking
Carol Pilon, wing walker for Third Strike Wingwalking, will have her PT Stearman on display and be available to the public to talk about wing walking.
Vintage Wings of Canada
Join the Vintage Wings of Canada’s pilot out on the ramp to see and hear a living piece of our aviation heritage as part of the Sunday Flying Visits at the Museum.
Gatineau Gliding Club
Static display with a chance for visitors to sit in the cockpit of a glider.
Family Activities
More fun than ever before with crafts galore including: Boomerang Glider, Canada Day Card, Painting Frenzy, Wing Walker’s Wind Sock, and Pilatus Hat. Plus: Roving entertainers, face painting and live music with the Grey Jazz Big Band.

The Canada Aviation Museum is located at the intersection of the Aviation and Rockcliffe Parkways, just 10 minutes from Parliament Hill. The Museum will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Canada Day, with the special activities ending by 4:30 p.m. Free admission, free on-site parking, free alternate parking at the Rockcliffe Flying Club, free continuous shuttle service between the Rockcliffe Flying Club and the Museum.
