Top of PageResponding to Your Privacy Concerns

Welcome to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada Web site. The site was designed to provide information and resources to assist you in better understanding your personal information rights as well as your obligations under Canada's two privacy laws, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the Privacy Act.

Being informed about the rules protecting the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information is important to help you preserve your rights. We encourage you to visit our Web site regularly to address the questions you may have. The Resource Centre and Fact Sheets sections offer valuable resources and compliance tools for individuals and businesses.

The Office responds to thousands of inquiries from the general public seeking advice and assistance on a wide variety of privacy-related issues.

However, due to the growing number of inquiries received by the Office and our limited resources, we can unfortunately no longer process inquiries sent to us by e-mail.
